DETERRENTS
Barn Owls and Hawks are natural predators to pocket gophers, ground squirrels, rats and other vertebrate pests. Installing an Owl Box or Hawk Perch encourages these predators to take up residence on your property.
We install our Owl Boxes at a height of 8-10 ft, which is plenty high enough that the sounds of your family and pets enjoying the landscape will not disturb the owls. Other than cleaning out your owl box on a yearly basis and adding a little bit of wood mulch for bedding, your owl box will be a self-contained and highly effective natural deterrent. For larger properties such as vineyards, multiple owl boxes can be placed around the property to increase the zone of protection.
